Wow, I hope he can copy that flick to video somehow - that would be awesome to see!

Guys,
I did one of the greatest things one can do. Today, I bought a
boat. Actually, I bought part of a boat. Not a Cal, but a Cheoy Lee.
Just a little one, 30 feet. Full keel, teak decks, wood mast, recent
Yanmar, much teak.
Ah, teak decks.... drip, drip, drip. Aren't those the boats that
inspired the term "leaky teaky?
An another note, a local marine organization had a showing of a 1968
National Geographic film of Irving & Exy Johnson's trip across
Europe via canal in their 55' ketch (yawl?). I'm puzzled because it
was a motoring trip and the masts were down most of the time for
passage under fixed bridges and through tunnels. It was a travelogue,
a nicely done one, showing life on Europe's busy commercial rivers and
less busy canals.
The Johnsons' boat had a big tabernacle that let them drop the masts
readily and easily.
It was shown on two 1/2 hour film reels. The director of the
organization remembered seeing it long ago and had sought copies for a
long time. He finally found the movie on eBay. His kids were just
fascinated with the 16 mm projector, he said.
