Timmo, there are two options as far as weight goes.
Option 1: Anchor and rode, life jackets, bolt cutter, spare winch handles and lines, extra gas, first aid kit, binoculars, food, water
Option 2: MGD

I think about 2 HP per 1000lb is not a bad reference for all around use.
Keep in mind that your boat most likely weighs a good deal more than the
number in the brochure.
