Cal 29 Beam Replacement
clausont2007-12-30 13:14
Hi,
I am new to this forum and a new owner of a1974 Cal 29 (or Cal 2-29 -
not sure of the difference).
I know that this beam replacement has been covered extensively here
which is why I am here. I was told by someone on another forum that
this is the place to go.
In my refit of the boat, I discovered that the tabs above the pan are
almost completely rusted through. That is enough for me to look into
replacing the beam.
My question: Is there a thread on how to replace the beam in my boat
with good details and hopefully pictures? I have searched the forum
but probably just missed it.
Thanks

Congratulations on the new(older) boat, the Cal 29 is a great
sailboat. With regards to your beam question, look at David's
website under the link to the "dreaded beam".
