Are all the tabs on the forward side of the bulkhead on the 29? I ask because I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures of this job done on a 40 where the bulkhead remained in place and only the front and some of the top of the fiberglass step was removed after removing some of the cabinetry in the head and hanging locker. If the tabs are all on the front side then there are some photos you need to see from Charlie who did a 40. John Congratulations on the new(older) boat, the Cal 29 is a great sailboat. With regards to your beam question, look at David's website under the link to the "dreaded beam". http://www.mariposa sailing.com/ index.html Neil Optima, Cal 2-29 Victoria BC --- In Cal_Boats@yahoogrou ps.com, "clausont" <clausont@.. .> wrote: > > Hi, > I am new to this forum and a new owner of a1974 Cal 29 (or Cal 2- 29 - > not sure of the difference). > I know that this beam replacement has been covered extensively here > which is why I am here.
