I just thought of something from way back when we first bought out Cal 33. It was originally plumbed with both tanks going into a T fitting and feeding the water pump off one line. We experienced air in the system and were advised to add a Y-valve and isolate the two tanks (port 15 gallons, starboard 25 gallons) through the Y-valve. We have never had air in the system since doing this -- except for the brief period that the pump cycles when a tank empties. Is yours still feeding both tanks to the pump through an open T-fitting? Don Dutton, 1986 Cal33, "Quantum Evolution" PS We mounted the Y-valve on the bulkhead under the sink with the handle just below the height of the port settee coaming making it extremely easy to reach, yet out of the way while moving about the cabin. The pump had been re cycling for just a second or two every 10 minutes or so and I was not able to locate the probable leak. We had installed a new water heater and so checked this carefully and there are no leaks there. We just learned to live with the re cycling or kept the preasure of unless we were using water. A new problem has developed. When turning the preasure switch on after it has been off for an hour or so there is a lot of air in the system that has to be blead off at the faucet (about a minute or so) before water is being pumped. I'm not sure as to where to start looking; a broken pump, somewhere along the line from the tank to the fuucet or where ever. Any ideas?
