On Pentaquod, we had a 135 on the roller furler most of the time. We had a
light 150 that we used as our "August on the Chesapeake" sail. And we had a
standard weight 110 that we'd put up if it was blowing a bunch and we didn't
want to sail with the 135 partly furled. I think the 110 had a higher clew,
too, which made visibility to leeward easier when heeling.

I sail out of Everett, and take everything except my
110 off of "Mad Duck", a Cal 27, from late October
through early April. I have to run this to the track
on the cabin.

Mad Duck is a work in progress currently in slip E85
at the Everett Marina. She might be tough to identify
on the water since the name on the boat is Zephyr. As
I said, a work in progress - somewhere on the to do
list is removing the old name. I haven't done any of
the Milltown races - just moved her up from Lake Union
early last summer, and have been more focussed on
fixing than competing. My wife will be much happier
with a completed interior/exterior. She sails sweet
though!

I used to have a Cal 25 on H dock south side, it is still there. Two kids later, wife that would not go again without a bigger boat. We originally wanted the cal 27, great boats. We ended up with the 29 and can't complain either. I am on south C40 something, the only green cal on the dock. My wife liked the 29 for the head room, everything else she didn't really care about. If you ever want to go on race day, let me know. We usually need the extra hands.
