Yeah, that does suck. It's a tough thing. On the other hand, diabetes can
be extremely treatable with diet, exercise and stress reduction, and what's
better for stress reduction than sailing?
I had a good friend diagnosed - who made life-style changes in desperation
ONLY to DISCOVER that his life was better in every way afterwards. He said
it was the best thing that ever happened to him. Of course, it's a tough
change for many people and it can certainly depend on how far along it is
and how able you are to man up and discipline yourself when those around you
are shoving beer, whisky and espresso at you.
Be encouraged.
Hope this is encouraging....

I remember what a friend told me the last time I had a big crisis (lost
a job): "First of all, don't panic." He had lost a few jobs before. He
was right. I did panic anyway, of course, but he was right. We do get
through these things. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other
even when you don't much feel like it, and pretty soon things will be
getting better. Keep reminding yourself that things will look better.
They will; it's just a matter of waiting and functioning until it happens.

It's coming down and I'm calming. I am pretty sure I'm going back to
just driving. Management is NOT worth the stress and such. I am
basically at work 24/7 w/ no days off...

Marsh, we could change the subject and discuss the relative qualities of sativa vs. indicus, and hybrids. Also, what about non-alchoholic brews? My oldest brother drank them when he was a pilot for TWA. Personally I've found smoking weed and sailing don't mix well, as far as getting up and trimming sails and using whisker poles, etc. Then, there's always getting busted by the Feds...ugggh! Oh well, how about weed that doesn't have much THC? Like the stuff they grow for hemp cloth, rope, and oil. Hmm the possibilities are endless.

I love weed, but haven't been able to smoke it in well over 15 years.
:-( Comes w/ the job. I always thought it better than alcohol. No
hangovers and you don't wanna get in fistfights... oh well, them's ma
opinions...
