Re: [Cal_Boats] Cal 3-29 Galley Cabinets(Was Cal 34 Mk III Repower) (Gregg)
Hi Gregg: The Lapworth drawings that I have for the 3-29 interior specifically comment on the fact that the row of drawers are NOT to be tabbed in due to engine repair/replacement issues, so it might be easier than you think. The electrical panel would be testy, but the port side counter/drawer arrangement appears to be bolted/screwed in to the bulkhead and the quarterberth.

Hey Dan,
There's a great guy (Joe DeMers of Sound Marine) on this list. He will give you straight and honest advise. My only complaint is that he doesn't have a twin here in Puget Sound. :) We have a farrymann on it's 2nd rebuild and I really want to repower. When that time comes, we're going with Joe. Joe doesn't know this yet, but I want to buy him a plane ticket out here to help me with this project. What's holding us back is the time commitment and having to tear out our galley cabinets to get to our darn engine. We have the Cruiser's addition of the Cal 29 which makes getting to the engine tough. Anyway, Joe will steer you right.

Has anyone completed a re-power of a Cal 34 Mk III? It seems eminant
that the 1978 we just bought needs to be repowered. It looks to me that
the galley will need dissasembly to make room for removal of the
engine. Any insights and war stories are appreciated.
