Wow, your blog is full of stuff! The electric conversion is extra cool though - thanks for that. We'll have to try that when it's repowering time. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals? I think the electric conversion is very interesting stuff. I'm not sure where your boat is but when I repowered, the math just didn't work for me. My boat was in Puget Sound and to cruise up through BC, alas, you need to do a fair amount of motoring. I choose a Yanmar because they are everywhere out here. Parts are not cheap but then I haven't needed any. :) I also keep hearing positive things about the Beta engines as well. Being from Seattle myself and being someone who used to keep a schedule I understand the need to motor more than one would prefer. These days we are in the Caribbean so not in too great of a hurry to be anyplace. A lot has happened in the last five years since we installed our Electric drive designing it ourselves and making some mistakes in the process...Now days you can get a pretty much drop in replacement starting at around $3000...Progress is kind of wonderful... Though we do plan to cross back into the Pacific and so planning to tweak our electric propulsion for those two hectic days on the canal.
