Hi David, Funny you noticed that, I too look at Cal 29 spreaders and can usually guess the year of the Cal as being 1976, 77, or 78 if it has the aluminum spreaders. We're hull #1008, and a friend of mine (Brad, new to the Cal board) has hull #1009 and he has aluminum spreaders too. Another friend with a 1976 Cal 29 hull (#957 ?) also has aluminum spreaders, but every other Cal I've seen older that 76 has wood spreaders. Maybe you have a newer rig, or ? Funny again, my Cal is a 1972 vintage, hull # 411, aluminum spreaders. I love em. I take the rig down every year, my yard stores mast down. Hey, we have winter here! But winter is gone, it was 60 today, I did a yard cleanup day today, and will do another tomorrow. The boat will have to wait.
