Thanks Dan and Dave, We did it! Right now I am pretty burnt. We had four people on the boat. We only had 2 of us who drove, we did 4 hours on and 4 hours off. We got to Ensenada in 26 hours and 28 min. We sailed 37 miles out and back in. We got a trophy from the Secratery Of the US. The race gave us Hats that says "WINNING CREW". So next time we get together, I have to show it off. I hung out all I could at the finish board looking for Per and Wilkie and never connected. They finished in 36 hrs I think. Thanks Timm, The CAL 40, Ralphie, won it's class. After talking to the guys on the SC 50; "5150", they did 200 jibes in the night and I don't know how many sail changes. You guys are top! Congratulations Randy. Sounds like quite an effort. Are you in the HArbor Island area of San Diego by any chance. On short notice I am going to be in San Diego next Monday late afternoon and would love to be able to see some of the Cal boats in that area.....walk the docks a bit. Meet some other Cal owners. I just saw the CAL 29 "Yo Ho" got a third place in PHRF K. I met John last year and he sailed in the Santa Barbra to King Harbor race. Good sailing and way to hang in there. Bruce here. I am making my first trip to San Diego since August, when I made a mad dash to and from Phoenix to see if I left my passport in the V-berth. I will only be there Saturday and Sunday. Almost afraid to see what I will find. I have a Cal 28, and do not know of any Cal 40's in my neck of the woods in the south bay. Always happy to meet new people and learn something from them!
