Shower sump 1988 Cal 28

anybody know any shortcuts to replacing my shower sump drain hose on a 1988 Cal 28? I think i can get most of the hose out (there is a hole about 24in from the drain fitting in the floor of the head/shower) but was wondering if there was a trick to it. I suppose i could repair it but the repair site does not look like it would be water tight. thanks.
