Re: Port Lights, aka windows

Thanks Everyone:
I'm planning the four opening port lights on the forward part of the cabin top. I am leaning toward the stainless product at New Found Metals. They have one that looks like a perfect fit for my 34. I like the idea of not cutting more out of the cabin.
I called the Mark Plastics in Corona, CA Tel: (909) 735-7705 and it's disconnected. They were my first call.
The info on the big windowss is good for the files. I'm sure that someday those too will demand attention.

Dan,
One more thing. The NFM ports will need the wood trim unless they have
changed the design. I made my own, they didn't supply them back then. Also,
the spigot is bigger, you will need to notch the cabin side a little. I used
a sanding drum on a drill, get one the right diameter and it is a 10 second
job.
As for terminology, I think port "lights" don't open?? That may be where the
confusion was :<)

That phone number is an old area code and persists in some of the
listings. If I was in business, I would check my listings once in a
while but I recall I had the same problem three years ago.

PS I solved one of my troubles from the trip back from Catalina. We
had found ourselves suddenly unable to shift gears. The cable has a
bracket that mounts it to the engine block before it turns down to the
shifting lever. The bracket is held b two machine screws. Both had
fallen out and both were pretty short with only three turns of thread
holding them in. One had fallen out some time ago as it was lying
below the V drive and had some corrosion on the threads. I replaced
them but get longer screws and add lock-tite.

Hi, All. Remember that the area code for Mark Plastics is 951, NOT 909.
