That's nice to hear, since I figured that Michigan must be the cloudiest
place on earth, at least in the fall and winter. We're directly downwind
of Lakes Michigan and Superior when the prevailing westerlies blow, and
downwind of Erie, Ontario, and Huron when the wind is from the east.
When I was in school in Ann Arbor, I remember the newspaper telling us
in early Dec. that we'd just gone through November with not a single
sunny day. It was just persistently gray. November and December are my
least favorite months. Usually by January and especially February, we'll
finally get some very cold, clear days with blue sky and sun, wonderful
days after the damp, gray cold of the end of the year.
Summers are fine for us, so we're luckier than you in that regard.
