Re: [Cal_Boats] Santa Barbra Channel
Thanks for checking on us Randy.
Experience has taught us to always check weather before departing into the
deep blue, so we are having our island trip in the Santa Barbara harbor due to
the 25 - 35 kt winds that were predicted. Last night while we having
cocktails sitting safely at our (windy) dock, we checked the real time weather and it
was blowing 48 knots at the east channel buoy with the highest gust reaching
72 knots! So we are thinking we are pretty smart sailors at this point,
although we have bought enough food and alcohol that by the end of tonight's
dock party, (sleeping onboard combined with the frustration of being cheated
out of Island Bliss) tomorrow morning, I may have a different opinion of my
intelligence.
We will give you more notice on the next planned trip.
Cheers
Daniel Casey
