You guys all right?
Right now Ventura and Oxnard are getting slammed with Santa Annas.
I can't get the weather on VHF. Did telescope peak get torched?

Randy,
We¹re two blocks from an evacuation warning area and somewhere around 8 or
10 blocks from a mandatory evacuation area. It¹s hard to imagine it coming
to that where we are situated in the city but they are saying we should be
ready to leave. I don¹t think it will come to that but who knows. I have a
family staying with me that was evacuated last night. They were pleased to
learn that their house survived the night, but there is 0% containment and
the Santa Annas are starting to reach us again.
I spoke to Dan this morning and he and his lady were frantically packing
stuff out of her home into his big truck last night but despite seeing
flames nearby, they seem to have skirted it.
I had pulled up at the harbor last night to putter with my boat and watched
the fire erupt and triple in size in 15 minutes. As the sundowner started,
I bailed out of the harbor to avoid the smoke and ash, offering a couch to
my live aboard buddy on the way out.
It¹s all about the Santa Anna winds, of course you could see when the 50
mph gusts would hit because of tornados of yellow flame. News reported some
gusts at 70 MPH and if it does it again tonight we could be in trouble. I
was thinking that I could get to Santa Rosa Island in record time.
On the other hand, the DC-10 has arrived and hopefully will make a
difference.
Very wild.

After our close brush with the gap fire in July I know how this feels. I evacuated myself onto Estrella when the fire got closer...
David and Dan, should you need a place to crash at the other end of town give me a call...

Man, good luck. I wish I could send some cold Southeast Alaska rain your way. I could not
imagine facing what you guys have to face.
