Sweet boat!
I use to race on a CAL 35 out of Newport Beach, Ca. The boat collected a lot of trophies. I was crew in the Newport to Ensenada race. The year I crewed with him we got fourth in our class and the next year he took third. I have not heard from him in a while but I know his boat is still on it's mooring.
It did good on the down wind legs and really good to weather. The traveler is on the coach top, not my favorite but you could still control the main. It rates a 160 in our area.
Doug had a dodger on his. But he won a lot of trophies just the same.
I liked the comfort it provides on the long distance races and after we finished.
Welcome to the list and the best memories with your purchase.

I stand corrected,
I raced on the Ray Hunt design. The Cruising 35 tates a 190 PHRF.
My bust.
