Continuing Transmission Woes...

John2008-12-16 14:15 UTC
Hi All, I finally got the MSB Transmission out of my Cal 31 (Volvo Penta MD7A) and believe that the problem is a gear with the fiber insert worn away. At any rate, I am now muddling through the disassembly instructions and can't seem to remove the flange up front that hooks up with the engine, even with a gear puller (it does not budge). There appears to be a key in the flange, but no readily apparent way to remove. Of course, the instructions merely say "Remove the flange with the help of a puller". At any rate, a photo is posted to the group site as "MSB Flange.jpg". If anybody has any advice or suggestions, they would be much appreciated. Thanks, John Stacklyn Cal 31 #33 "Sol Survivor" Shell Point, FL
