Jacksonville Florida yards

Greets: My buddy sailing down the east coast has entered Florida and is in need of yard/marina where he can undertake some repairs. Was wondering if anyone in Florida has any recommendations as the boat will need to be hauled, bottom inspected and repainted if necessary, plus a host of minor issues arising from a 3K coastal cruise. -- /ch

Again not Jacksonville, but not far. I go this from a friend. "The only time I used a yard in that area was when the Sea Ray needed some leaks repaired. We were parked at Camachee Island marina in St. Augustine -- they have a yard associated with the marine -- Camachee Yacht Yard. The head guy was Peter Sabo -- seemed like a capable and honest guy." He ended up at the Oretga Sailing Club Marina which meets all his requirements and has easy access to shopping ie: westmarine and other larger outlets. So he's in good shape. The marina that he wanted to stay at was not accessible to due bridge clearances. At 12.50 a foot plus 1.50 a day for electricity and internet he's settled in for the month to complete repairs and spend the holidays. Boat length is 35 so its reasonable for this time of year and location. Ah...no unfortunately its not a CAL. Couldn't convince him to get his mind off the Ericson..:) Thanks again for eveyone's comments, much appreciated Best regards -- /ch
