Bent prop shaft

Hello All:
I had a hellatious freak accident the day before Christmas. I was anchored just out of the ICW south of St Augustine when at around 3AM three distinct hard thuds occurred. Enough to wake me up and think a boat hit me. I'll dispense with the details, but suffice it to say, a water logged telephone pole 12-15 feet long, perhaps a foot and a half in diameter was seen caught in some crab pots 15 miles south the following day. I'm willing to bet the farm that was the cause of the following damage:
a. bent prop shaft
b. broken strut
The question is, if the shaft is bent, and the prop shop can rebend it, am I taking a risk? Should I be concerned with metal fatigue even if I'm assured it will be good as new. OR should I grit my teeth, tell them forget, and just fabricate a new one?
Presently, I'm boatless, no transportation, learning to fish, living on the hard in Ponce Inlet, FL, for about 3 more weeks. Any suggestions????

how old is the boat/shaft?
from what material is the old shaft made?
what will it cost to have it straghtened, including delivery and pickup, etc?
what will it cost for a new one arriving at the boat?
what will it cost to have the old flange removed rom the old shaft and installed on the new shafr, or alternatively, buy a new flange and install it on the new shaft? What if the old flange breaks during removal or installation?
why is the sky blue? (easiest question to answer?)

Here¹s link to an economical and very helpful company that sells
pre-machined high quality prop shafts. May be cheaper and easier than
trying to straighten yours.

since they also do reconditioning (looks inexpensive), perhaps that would be a place to send the shaft. they should be able to give you an opinion on the trustworthyness of your existing shaft.
