Ultimate Sole finish
DavidOwen2009-01-14 19:55 UTC
After alerts from a couple of our list members, and reading archives from
the Sabre list (thanks, you guys) I have ordered a quart of the Ultimate
Sole to try on my new teak & holly salon sole.
I'll try and remember to update you all as to it's application, non-skid and
longevity as this data becomes available.

Wilkie, if the "Ultimate Sole" does not have good non-skid properties,
you can always apply an overcoat of "Rubber Soul".
Arrrggg... Having a mind like mine is often painful. For myself and for
others.
Cheers Anyway

I used Ultimate Sole on our teak and holley and it came out GREAT! And the non skid attributes are fabulous. We have also applied this on our chart table as well as the dining table with great results.
However we used the entire preperation as indicated by Ultimate Sole which included some other stuff from them. I can't remember the name of it as my wife actually is in charge of the wood, however it is part of their process....
It has been 4 seasons and the wood still looks great!
Good luck and enjoy.

Charlie,
I had to ³Drive My Car² down to the chandlery for more information on your
Rubber Soul product since I¹ve never heard of it. I guess you were just
jerking me around, because I asked a nice (and super-hot looking) sales
³Girl² -- er I mean person -- about it.
³The Word² from this ³Michelle,² was ³You Won¹t See Me² using that product
on ³Norwegian Wood,² nor teak & holly either. She said that stuff is
³Nowhere, Man² cause it¹s too expensive and you should ³Wait² for it to go
on sale.
³If I Needed Someone² to flame me about real sailing content on this list I
could go on and on, but I¹m going to take a nap instead.

Rubber Soul
Husar, Charlie [USA]2009-01-14 23:46 UTC
For Timm (and for all the rest of you youngsters), Rubber Soul was was
the Beatles' first "alternative" album. Came out in late 1965. It
broke the mold of compiling commercial hits into albums (combined with
junk). Some really new and radical type stuff for the time. Almost
forgot how much I loved some of the tunes Wilkie listed below.
Sailing content promised next time.
Cheers
