If you are going to partner with someone in a boat, just as in marriage, make sure you have the same interests with the boat. If your boat partner is a cruiser or daysailor and you are a racer, you will constantly be at odds ie: how come everytime I get on the boat the water tank is empty? How come you leave so much crap on the boat? We don't need new sails, they are only 20 years old ;-). Get the picture? I am fortunate to have a wife that loves to race and we often ask ourselves what would we do with all our time (and money) if we didn't sail? Better yet, she is the one who got me into racing and often tells people she created a monster. I think I would lean to an earlier post regarding just getting a smaller and or cheaper boat that you can afford on your own. Sailing is a release and if you're constantly worried about your partner, you aren't going to enjoy your time on the water as much. There are a LOT of cheap boats out there these days, just keep looking. Paul West Adventure Kwest Cal 39 **************Great Deals on Dell Laptops. Starting at $499.
