Greets: Following on from Jeff Owen's post and followup from r.good I was wondering what the concerted opinion of the experts on this list wrt to the brit made gel-plane. You can catch the marketing video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CW68Qohtus As these tools are reasonable in price 2.5K (reasonable if you consider the investment in time 10 square meters/hr) and I have a couple of small sailboats and hope to get a coastal cruiser this summer once the house sells I'm thinking this is not a bad investment as all the boats will need a bottom job. As this tool is infinitely adjustable it can be used to simply strip paint or towards the other end, peel back the hull when needed. Costs could be recovered doing a few local bottom jobs.
