Ron, You need to crew on a boat that flies a chute before you decide to just do it on your own boat. It's a complicated thing, and requires a crew that knows what to do when. And a skipper who is experienced. Don't believe those guys who have boats with a sprit who fly chutes. It ain't the same thing as flying a real chute. Regards, David Dobbs, Cal 29, who has flown a chute on an Erickson 35 in a couple of Mac Races. --- On Sun, 3/22/09, Ronald Eddleman <ro… [at] yahoo.com> wrote: > From: Ronald Eddleman <ro… [at] yahoo.com> > Subject: [Cal_Boats] 33-2 Spinaker > To: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com > Date: Sunday, March 22, 2009, 2:40 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > All knowing Cal > Group: > > I am prepearing my 1988 Cal 33-2 to fly a spinnaker. > Has anyone rigged this boat for a spinnaker and if so Ineed > info on location of the sheet blocks as well as the down > haul for the pole. I'm a light-air spinnaker person (almost said "guy,' but that confuses the terminology) because I'm usually sailing with one inexperienced crew member. Chris Campbell > > > >
