Don - Thanks for the great stories of cruising with your kids. As a late in life dad, 45 with a 9 month old son and contemplating #2 in the next year or so, our goal is to set off on an extended cruise once he and his future sibling turn 5 as we want them to remember the places we see. My wife has an education background and loves to teach so we will homeschool while we are out. Right now, we race weekly in Cambridge and do the Spring and Fall series in Oxford and have a lot of friends over there. My wife was raised in Annapolis and her dad lived about a 10 minute walk from Fawcetts but just recently moved to Easton so we spent a lot of time in Eastport and Annapolis. Now that we have the Cal 39 we hope to enjoy more cruising and get the "little man" acclimated to boat life so I was glad to read about your kids enjoying the "private" beaches on the bay. It really is a nice place to cruise, I just wish the EPA would do its job and get it cleaned up. Some of the old salts in my club talk about the days not all the long ago when it was so clear you could see huge schools of rockfish looking down from the bay bridge and the sea grass was so thick in places you'd have to clear your prop if you were in a powerboat trying to cross the bay. If you go to the Maritime Museum in St. Michaels they have old oyster shells that were 8 and 10 inches across and the oysters beds used to pile up so high they were actually navigational hazards. Now you're lucky to find an oyster larger than 3-4 inches across due to over oystering to meet the demand. Paul **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps!
