Tock Tick T-101 Wind system

Is anyone using the Tock Tick T101 wireless (solar powered) Wind System? I need something better than just the Windex for my Cal 31. I thought this might be a decent option as I wouldn't need to have a wire run down the mast. (I know, I know, solar powered-Seattle???? but it is sunny in the summer). For the display however I will use the option to wire the display unit to 12v since it will likely be under the dodger and out of the sun. These are about $1300 at Defender. Also, from looking at it it appears that there will need to be some sort of fitting mounted to the mast head. Any experience with it out there? Thanks. http://www.tacktick.com/products/4 Bob Connell Jollygood!, Cal 31 #59 Olympia, WA

Year two now into the voyage and no reported issues, at least not in the magazine that he writes for. -- /ch

We have the basic TackTick package (depth, knots, display, but no wind) on our CC36, Sara E., for two years and are so far quite happy with it.
