Re: [Cal_Boats] Re: Rope Clutch(Jack)
Jack,You're right, but I thought it odd that there was no manufacturer name on the clutch. That made me think that perhaps Jensen had bought them from someone to use as OE on their boats. The other 3 work fine. So now I have to fill in the holes, drill new holes, etc. And buy a new one. Garhauer.

Anywhere. I have no clue who made it, but my Cal dates from 1972. I know, I can buy a new Garhauer for a little over $100, but I like to repair when possible. Any ideas?

Since clutches didn't exist in 1972, my guess is that your clutch is not original equipment. I would also guess that even if you were able to find the manufacturer, it is so old that the maker doesn't carry any kind of replacement parts for it. Now I've been modestly surprised now again (like being able to find a bearing for my Barient), but usually not.
I think you have 4 options:
1. Jerry rig something,
2. Get a machine shop to make you a new part--for $200,
3. Two words--E--Bay, or,
4. Get a new one. A new one will have the benefit of modern technology.
