To add to the Cal 39 lore, I was told by a friend of my boat's PO that it was built for Ray Hunt's son, (Jim (?) I think is his name) and was a boat show model with all opening aluminum ports and the aforementioned "tweener" draft of 6 feet. This friend, I forget his name now, sat in for the PO when I had my engine surveyed and told me he was somehow involved in the ownership of Bangor Punta or Jensen at one time. I'll have to contact the PO sometime and get my details straight.
