Re: [Cal_Boats] Re: Reggie & David
Ah, you guys are too kind.
This Wednesday
Mariposa 5th
AirTime 10th
We were hoping to break-out the tables this weekend for a trip to Santa
Cruz Island but the weather did not get my memo for rest & relaxation. Damn!

I would be willing to accept the donation of a non-Lapworth Cal 39 in
order to mitigate any shame felt by a list member, since they are comfortable,
good looking and great sailing sea-boats. Shucks, I'd even take one of
those odd-ball 9.2's. I get to look at the Transom on Dan Casey's Air Time a
LOT and I've gotten very used to it.
LOL.

The Cal 39-2 is the 1976 redesigned Cal 39. The basic version had a
starboard quarterberth, starboard nav table, and a port u-shaped galley. True,
the Cal 39-3 was the Hunt design in the late 1980s, but the designation Cal
39-3 actually came into use to identify what Jensen Marine called the
3-cabin Cal 39-2, with a larger aft berth on the port side and the galley
starboard.
It gets a bit confusing because the factory might say one thing and then
brokers say something else and then owners come up with their own
designations.
Ya know, I'm pretty sure Wayne didn't mean to off-put anyone or to say the
Hunt designed Cal is not really a Cal. I can think of few boat companies
in which all the boats in their line are by the same designer.
