More on Cal 20 Spinnaker hardware locations
Chris Barszcz2009-05-07 23:19 UTC
Hi Everyone,
Any chance to go row out to the boat is a good excuse, so in spite of the damp weather, here are the dimensions on my Cal20. The spinnaker track starts 47" above the mast step and is 25" long. That puts the top of the track around 72". It's another 62" to the topping lift pulley, about 134" total. The other way to look it is the topping lift is just below the spreader brackets. Photo attached for reference.
Hope this helps.

I think Chris B's block location is the same as mine.
It's interesting that his track starts higher and is shorter than mine,
which starts at 41" and continues another 34". Jensen Marine did seem
to vary their hardware, depending on availability and price probably, so
it may just be normal production variation. My boat's hull no. is 1220.

extending the spin track down lower leaves the option of having the pole
attached and tacking over it more readily before the chute is set. Just
a thought.
Cheers
