cal-20 stay removal and support

Greets: Got this info from Schrooner Creek. Most racers (and some cruisers) remove the forward shroud and support the rear using the forward chainplates. Since I was clear on the config they were kind enough to fax a hand sketch. Perhaps it helps someone else. In a nutshell the forward shrouds are removed and the chainplates are used to support the rear shrouds as shown. For additional strength, since the weight is not disproportional, the chainplate is further supported by a tang (or whatever its called) connected to turnbuckle to adjust tension as needed. Actually a very clever system as it makes it very simple to tack. So if the racing lads are using this method now for quite a while, no reason it cannot be used on a cruising setup as it makes life a lot simpler. See attachment Best regards -- /ch
