Eric, David:
I'd like to know a little more about this. I am in the midst of a 72 call 33' rebuild, and amongst the many surprises found, there was a ruptured cabin sole, right along the edge were you have the soft spot. Anyway, I removed that section of the cabin sole, and I am placing two cross sectional members in the keel well, after whih I plan to lay in a new cabin sole section, fiberglass/epoxy.
It is my unsersatning that the cabin sole must not be bonded to the hull, which flexes back and forth depending on tach.
As you, I'd like some feedback to confirm if my assumption is correct.
Project is going along rathere well, by the time I'm done, which is about 16 months into the project and a lot of $$$$, I will pretty much be the proud owner of a bristol Call 33.....
Thanks to all for the incredible information and extensive help!

hey folks..
i was up at my boat last week and doing a bit of work.. one project i wanted to get into was trying to figure out how i can stop my table from shaking every time i walk by it..
i am looking to reinforce the sole. but im not sure if i can do that. i took a look and noticed that the cabin sole does not connect to the hull anywhere in this area.
the problem im having is the table shakes bad, every time i walk next to it. enough to knock over drinks sometimes..
the question i have is, can i reinforce it by attaching it to the hull with some glass?
or is this just a bad idea? i thought it might need to be able to flex separate from the hull. but i wasnt sure.. it seems like i could easily add some glass and lock it solid to the bilge area... but i dont wanna add anything that would cause problems. should i just try and reinforce the sole without touching it to the hull???
any ideas????
i have put some photos up to show what exactly im talking about..
