Seeking a Cal 34' mast - Looking for recommendations
hugehefnernyc2009-09-02 18:00
Hello,
I am seeking a mast for a 1967 Cal 34'. Not seeking substitute from another boat manufacturer. Current mast is not repairable, but rigging/spreaders/rest of boat is ok.
Please advise if you know of a marine salvage yard that would have one or a sparmaker with an incredible deal, especially one in the NYC area or vicinity.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
Best Regards,
Stan

Stan:
Unless the rigging attached to that aforementioned 1967 mast is less
than 10 years old, I would challenge your assertion that it is "OK."
Yes, rigs are often pushed many decades beyond that. You may not venture beyond the horizon line in puffs of more than 5 knots but that is still a VERY dangerous assumption.Take the time to replace or service everything you can before you stand that stick back up. This is your chance!
