There is also a product called "Tefgel" that is supposed to prevent the
galvanic (?) corrosion between dissimilar metals. It is good for the threads
but I'd still use a plastic washer between the head and the mast.

I got it at CVS. I got a 1lb tub about 8 years ago, use it for everything, and have about 75% remaining. If you google it I am sure you can get it online. And probably cheaper than CVS.
