What would be the market price for a 1979 CAL39MKII shoald Draft?

Long time since I posted here. With the economy in the dumps I imagine used sailboat prices ahve fallen like the housing market. I am tinkering withthe idea to put my Miami based 1979 CAL39MKII shoal Draft (read 5 ft 6 inches) for sale. When I purchased the boat about 8 years ago I did a good refit, including the PERKINS diesel, exhaust, filter, etc; tanks, water heater, all pipings, all thru-hulls,steering pedestal, all running rigging, top hatches, as well as installing a LAVAC woman proof head, etc. Lately I replaced the toe rails, hand rails (all six of them), bow pulpit, stanchions and lifelines. My biggest issue is that I do not have time for the boat because I am travelling way too much and when I am home the Admiral has a lot of honey-do's around the house, plus kids stuff - etc I am guilty that I seem to like sailing in my homebuild proas and philipine paraws when I have a day for myself - did I mention I also have an old inflatable CATAPULT catamaran and I trying to fit hydrofoils to it? too many toys....not enough time The boat is sound and the bottom hull is in perfect condition Given all of the above - prices should reflect current economic conditions - any clues?

Has the boat been surveyed? Do you have any photos you can send? My brother is retiring in three months and is very interested in a boat of about this size. I would suggest that you look around on www.yachtworld.com<http://www.yachtworld.com> to see if there is a good answer on the levels of pricing, for your and similar boats. My general opinion is that all the nice work that sailors put into their boats, including $100,000 sail inventory, do little to affect the price. Maybe sometimes great improvements moves the boat to the top of the price range, and increases the likelihood of a quick(er) sale. dEmO From: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com [mailto:Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jeffrey owen Sent: Friday, November 13, 2009 3:02 PM To: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Cal_Boats] What would be the market price for a 1979 CAL39MKII shoald Draft?
