CAL 29: Fixing boom & propane supply line location

Greets: One of the projects that I want to undertake once I settle is to fix the boom from rotating around its axis point. Anyone have any recommendations as to how to best accomplish this. The other major project will be to install a stove/oven and propane. Ive looked at Wilkies Maraposa Page for ideas on the locker which is great, however my concern is running the line down the starboard side inside the lazarettes as this is where both the batteries, battery charger, and misc electrical components are located. Anyone have an experience or advise on installing both a propane supply system and stove/oven on a 29. On the 3-29 the stove is located on the starboard side close to the cabin bulkhead as there is no starboard settee on this model. Im thought of running it down the port side but then I run into the electrical panels, all three of them and main switch, selector. So there seems to be no real place that I am comfortable with to run the line. On the other hand as this is a new project for me, perhaps Im concerned needlessly. Any comments or advise would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance Chris H.

What I did was take a cutting wheel on a angle grinder, cut off the end of the pin that goes through the gear, press the pin out and replace it with a 1/2 inch SS bolt thus binding up the gear. Worked great but I can't remember how I pressed out the pin. Kind of an important step to forget, sorry. If you boom rotates for some other reason, just ignore my post :-) Allen

remove the pop rivets whch hold the cast gooseneck assembly into the mast end of the boom. Pull assembly. align the rotating pin so that the boom would be "not rotated' if attached to the mast. drill through side of assembly and through the attaching pin and through the far side of the assembly. install roll pin. works great. Have done 2 and no problems, and it now works great with my rigid Garhauer vang. wins races too!
