Hey, Jack: When I got my Cal 33, a little over 3 years ago, there was a problem similar to what you mentioned, the door was not aligned as it once was, bulkhead tabbing seemed intact, chainplayes looket good, etc. About a year later, I hauled her to rebuild her completely. There were a few surprises along the way, one of which was the main bulkheads. The port bullhead, which extends from the hull to the compression post, was slightly warped, upon closer inspection, I realized that layers of plywood had delaminated from within. So, to say the least, I went ahead and replaced them, but first cut the sole to replace the beam, which had lost a lot of metal over the years due to corrosion. I certainly hope that your situation has a simpler solution. I would take a very good look at all component in that area, bulkheads, chainplates, beam and post. Also, if your boat is like mine, that bulkhead may be made of two pieces of plywood rather than 1, joind by a strips of fiberglass on each side with nuts and bolts. I would inspect that closely as well. I would think that with the tremendous stresses these components are subjected to, something gave. Let me know how things turn up. Good luck. I can't close the door anymore. Should I be worried? How do I get it back in place so it won't shift again? I've checked the tabbing of the bulkhead to the hull, and there's no delam. Jack
