Boat Heaters

Greets:
Been looking at a number of heaters during my down time. An
interesting one is this one:
http://store.hamiltonmarine.com/browse.cfm/refleks-stoves-parts/2,879.html
Aside from being expensive, the reviews are good, but was wondering if
anyone has any actual experience with one of these models. The other
option is a solid fuel heater from Dickinson as both models require no
external energy input. ie; no electricity.
Best regards

You should really take a look aty one of these:
http://www.espar.com/html/applications/marine.html
I got one, and while expensive, it runs on diesel ( a safe fuel I already
have on board), takes up no cabin space (mine is about the size of a shoe
box and is mounted in the aft most portion of my cockpit coaming), and I did
not have to cut a whole in the coach roof (it vents out the transom). And
did I mention that it cooks us out of the boat if we turn the thermostat all
the way up? Made my family much more willing to do winter cruising.

The espar is a great heater no question about it however it has power
requirements that Im trying to avoid. Currently I run one house battery, and
would like to stay that way. I may add another as needed but for now the
electical requirement is set to one battery only.
I looked at these in detail a while back and was really impressed.
Thanks for the information.

Don't get the Force 10 Diesel Heater. Lots of Maintenace and it soots up the cabin if the pressure drops.
I did hear of a Wabasto Heater that was suppose to be really good, it has been used in Diesel Trucks for years.
