If you're looking inflatable, check out the Aquamarine's you can buy through eBay. I actually have two (7.5ft with air floor for flyfishing, 8.5ft with aluminum floor for tender dinghy). For a hard dink, the Walker Bay isn't bad, but the best bet is build your own wooden one! Check out the PK78 from www.bateau.com - cost under $500, a few weekends work... For engine, try a Minn Kota Traxxis 45 and a Group 27 battery - cheap to buy, cheap to run! druid "Coatue" Crown 28 jeff t wrote: > > I am looking for peoples reveiws of Dinghies. how many people, how much load do you want to carry? How will you transport it while cruising? will you travel offshore? tough to beat a rigid inflatable for durability and stability, but heavy. You can get a good ualith used one for under the 1500 listed. Jeff, We bought a Walker Bay Oddessey (hypalon) with the high pressure floor about two years ago. Best price found was from Defender @ $1,300. It weighs ~ 60 lbs. When bagged up, I stow it in my port lazerette. We power it with a 28 lb. 3.5 HP 2-stoke Nissan.
