You couldn't fabricate a keel for $450. Buy the boat, pick out the best pieces off of both, and discard / ebay parts you don't want. Either chainsaw/dumpster the hull, or keep it as a "spare". Sound like a no-brainer. W/ out a keel the donor boat is great for kids to play on too, once its bedded down in the ground! One is, of course, assuming that these boats do have the keels (and in reasonable shape). Just sayin'...
