You couldn't fabricate a keel for $450. Buy the boat, pick out the
best pieces off of both, and discard / ebay parts you don't want.
Either chainsaw/dumpster the hull, or keep it as a "spare".

Sound like a no-brainer.
W/ out a keel the donor boat is great for kids to play on too, once its bedded down in the ground!
