But Bruce,
She's still just a stink pot!
I'd rather have my Cal 24 any day!

I am thinking of lining the Cal 28 interior with mirrors on all sides.

This is the essential difference between "tycoon" and "sailor." The
tycoon needs the look-at-me, mine-is-bigger-than-yours affirmation, and
is driven by it. We ordinary sailors lack that compulsion, and we find
our pleasure in making our boats go, not hiding in them.
I will agree that sometimes there is a trickle-down effect for the rest
of us from innovations in materials, engineering, and design in the
ultra-mega-yacht field, but it's hard to be jealous of people obsessed
with ostentation in that way. Would I rather be sailing my Cal 20 or
lounging amid the mirrors of the Russian's yacht? The answer is simple.
