The tycoon needs the look-at-me, mine-is-bigger-than-yours affirmation, and is driven by it. We ordinary sailors lack that compulsion, and we find our pleasure in making our boats go, not hiding in them. I will agree that sometimes there is a trickle-down effect for the rest of us from innovations in materials, engineering, and design in the ultra-mega-yacht field, but it's hard to be jealous of people obsessed with ostentation in that way.
