Missed it by that much!

We decided that we should maybe stopped lazing around all morning and weigh anchor before 9 or 10 and see if we could start averaging maybe 50 miles per day. So we did! Current in our favor, really bookin’. At about 50 miles and only 4:05! How cool is that? A bascule bridge, no problem, been there, done that. Well, slight problem. It closes at 4:00 and doesn’t open again until 6:30. What to do? Dropped anchor. Pumped up the dingy, and drained it. Had a G&T. Looked at the charts and Cruising Guides. Looks like we should pull anchor and go through at 6:30, drop anchor again for the night. That way we can get through the next restricted bridge tomorrow morning without delay. We are trying, Ben.
