Also along the eastern shore are fish traps that extend perpendicular to the shore as far as 1/4 mile. They look like a picket fence and most of the mf 'ers are not lit at night. They are particularly bad between the latitude of the patuxent to the Knapps Narrows.
As far as crab pots if you stay in water 15'+ deep you are pretty safe although there are the occaisional stragglers.
