Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, or a nicer boat; next time will be better!

Dear List,
Mariposa (Cal 2-29) v0000f nished way behind Airt time (cal 9;2R.)
that may be expected, but we; usually do OK. I missed winning the
start by seconds, but a larlger boat surpirsed me by going head to
wind at the mark and squeezing me out. Air Time got an OK start, and
outsialed us to windward.

Wikie,
Dan sure can make Air Time sail. Are you guys doing the Hardway this year? I am sailing Out Patient in the nonspin class.
Hope to see you guys, I will deliver tomorrow.

Congrats, Wilkie - one way or the other. Note that Wilkie's message in "plain text" came out fine. The HTML formats are coming through strangely. This is not an individual problem. However, if everybody switches to "plain text" setting, may we have a work around.
Cheers
Charlie

Another day another race, We learn more from our failures than our successes. Sailed Sausalito YC Tuesday nite Beer can Series. Race postponed twice for wind. Very lite at times 2.9 mile course. We did well but results not yet up on site. Going home, I discovered we had no fuel can aboard(I forgot it) Sailed into berth at 2240h. I had an early morning contact so I got 1.5h sleep. My crew said "memorable experience. first nite sail" Han Shin Maru reported me to vessel traffic on vhf 14 as a sailboat with no running lites. I turned them on and told vessel traffic my intentions---A 20 foot Cal in the system--a first for me.
Life just gets better!
My Best, Mike

David, yo ho ho, blow the man down! How much grog did ye imbibe?
Shelly, I circumnavigated Alameda Island back in 1873, woops, 1973 in my homebuilt Glen-L plywood catamaran from China Basin. Of course, I docked at Quinn's Lighthouse. They had a real nice guest dock, but as the bar filled with beautiful people I could tell by their cocktail attire that it was unlikely anyone but us had sailed there. I used to date a lovely lady from Alameda, Linda, who was the Secretary of the Psychology Dept. at SF State, and a graduate student in the Art School.
I remember riding my motorcycle to her house, looking up at the elevated freeway above, and being scared to death it would fall on me any second from a major earthquake. They called it the Admiral Nimitz Freeway, and the sagging of the freeway between supports gave it a nice, up and down, wave riding ride. I guess my premonitions came true later on.
