S-L Hyspeed windlass

Does anyone here have experience re-building their S-L Hyspeed windlass? Mine works fine when retrieving the anchor but the clutch will not disengage in order to release the anchor. I have the owners manual but cannot seem to get the windlass open so I can inspect the gear box. The windlass is mounted on the anchor locker hatch and heavily reinforced below. That includes several holes in the lid. If I cannot fix it, I may need to shop around for a new anchor locker hatch replacement. TIA, Danny
