I seek the advice of a better racer than I. I passed my competitor at the last mark and rounded first. It was a beam reach or a broad reach, I can't recall. He went high. I followed to cover for a while but remembered he pulled this two years ago on another boat. They sailed way off cource in what looked like a tacking duel but must have been just zig-zagging given the wind direction. He passed and won. Not wanting the same fate, I headed toward the finish line and he passed me. So much for that strategy. It worked out OK as we dipped their stern and passed and went on to win but clearly I should not have let him pass in the first place. I really don't know what I should have done. So my question is, how should I have defended??? Allen On Mon, May 31, 2010 at 7:38 PM, Michael Robinson <mi… [at] hotmail.com > wrote: > > > Congrats Allen, nice going.
