Speaking of loving the Cal 20 lines.Since my days in college in the seventies
after the army in Newport Beach, I walked by a yard on the peninsula that had a
couple 20s for sale.Everyday I stopped climbed the wooden stair and looked at
that boat........ .....Thirty years later after my best army buddy died, I
figured if I didn't get a boat now I might never.
So I drove from Ft Lauderdale which probably has more boats than any other
town,to San Diego and pulled my lovely partially restored Cal 20 back to
Florida.Friends thought I was nuts, but I only wanted a Cal 20.Now thats love.
If I could just get her finished and into the water Ill be one happy sailor.

On Saturday, I installed the Icom m422 VHF on Radiant. The basic installation was as simple as you would expect: power and antenna.
Not typical for me, but I actually read some of the instruction manual.
There was a picture and description of the microphone.
The actual microphone was like something you would find in a cell phone. From the outside, it's a little square, roughly 1/16" x 1/16", on the lower part of the hand-set.
What looks like a microphone, those we are familiar with, apparently does nothing at all. It's just there to make you feel like you are holding a microphone.
Too funny.

Fin, they don't want us owners of fancy yachts to be seen talking into the end of a wire like some kind of idiot. Besides, where would the on button go? I guess you could just squeeze the end of the wire?
