New sailing (non) record attempt?

We have a new young girl to watch sail around the world, 14 year old Dutch girl said to set off in 2 weeks. She will be sailing in a 27 foot plain old boat. Bet it can Heave To OK but for my money I would take the 40 foot self righting boat with the 6 waterproof compartment any day.
