Atomic 4 ring gear
Pierre2010-08-28 15:09
Hi, the starter on my atomic 4 stuck on the on position grinding the side of my ring gear, does anyone know if I can remove the ring gear by heating it up or another method, take it off and turn it around so that I end up with fresh teeth???
Thanks
Pierre

The ring gear can be removed, However, it also slides away from the starter
creating the grinding sounds you may hear. I pulled mine and peened it in place
so it would quit sliding away from the starter.

Hi Pierre,
I have several good flywheels with undamged ring gears. $50 plus shipping from
32507.
Let me know if you have an early or late model A4 as the flywheels are
different.
Tom
