Hailing all Chesapeake Good Old Boats!

You still have time to register for the Good Old Boat Regatta on October 9 and 10 in Annapolis, Maryland. Now in its 11th year, this low-key and fun event is open to any boat whose first hull of the model was laid in 1975 or earlier. Three or more entries of the same model get their own class start and trophy. Skippers with no racing experience are encouraged to participate; a brief (and entertaining) Skippers Meeting on Friday evening will tell you everything you need to know. There is a post-race party held after each day's race, and Saturday's party has been known to extend into the evening with an acoustic music jam as part of the festivities. You are invited to register to race on either day or both. More details and a link to the entry form are available at http://www.goodoldboat.com/resources_for_sailors/sponsored_regattas/2010_GOB_regatta.php, or if you have any questions, please contact Charlie Husar at hu… [at] bah.com. We hope to see you there!

Wish I could be there. While my boat does not qualify, I would love to hobnob
with the boats and their owners and find a spot to crew. I am umpiring a tennis
tournament that weekend that is 3000 miles away. Drat!!
Hope you guys post details about the event for us to follow!
